A place so unique where Nature has centre stage and takes charge of the entertainment while you sit back and take it all in, embraced by an unforgettable fusion of the senses. It is hard to imagine but yet, there is a place. This is EZINTABENI.
Our Story
Taken from the local XHOSA language word for “between the mountains” EZINTABENI is located in the Eastern Cape between Steynsburg and Molteno in an area also known as the Bamboesberge in the spectacular unique and famous Karoo of South Africa.
EZINTABENI is a haven for all those wanting respite from the dizzying carousel of the world. There are no agendas, no to-do lists, no intrusive communications, no urgencies, just the mandate to relax and absorb the uplifting liberation of wide open spaces as far as the eye dares to stretch……where one can run as freely as a child and be left to one’s
thoughts and fantasies without necessarily being alone…..

Karoo Experience
Time and Nature have stood beautifully undisturbed here, the welcome contrast to any other place so seamlessly visible and palpable – see and experience the Karoo conduct her powerful thunderstorm orchestra in Summer, then allow yourself to be caressed by a cool evening breeze on the generous stoep while sipping a fine South African wine.
ln Winter, be seduced by the passionate crackle of a log fire as the stars wink down from a cloudless night canvas, then rest and awaken to a sugar-frosted landscape and a haze of purple-pink as the morning gradually opens her eyes to the dawning sun. Ready yourself perhaps to explore the breathtaking surrounds with a leisurely walk or energetic hike in a safe and welcoming environment.
Ezintabeni Culinary Experience
For those more keen on being creative, renowned chef / artist Suné Niemand of Bloemfontein’s award-winning Upper Crust will whisk you away into her world of culinary magic in the welcoming farmstyle kitchen where she will share her craft and some tips and tricks in a fun and casual setting. Be prepared to emerge with all the ingredients of a Master Chef in the making, whether you’re a amateur, more experienced or even if you’ve never cooked yourself at all!
